Oral hygiene and prophylaxis are the true foundation of oral health. Properly performed allow to maintain healthy teeth and gums over time. Some studies have shown that, for a patient with a mouth properly maintained, the risk of losing a tooth is about one every 100 years.

From the age of six years, it is important to perform a control and professional dental cleaning.
The frequency of controls depends on the risk of each one: every 3 months for patients at higher risk, every 12 months for patients already autonomous and effective in controlling plaque.
With the help of a dental hygienist, patients learn the techniques to maintain good oral hygiene at home and any gum problems and tooth are identified.
As part of the therapy it is recommended to patients with periodontal disease, a session of oral hygiene and a recall every 3/6 months to prevent recurrences.
